How to plan a month of social content in one afternoon
A simple, repeatable framework for turning business goals into a full month of posts — and keeping it on schedule.
Posting consistently is one of the most reliable ways to grow on social media, yet it is the first thing to slip when a team gets busy. The fix is not working harder every day — it is planning in batches. Here is a framework you can complete in a single afternoon.
1. Start from one or two monthly goals
Decide what this month should achieve: more enquiries, an event launch, a new product, stronger brand awareness. Every post you plan should support one of these goals. If a post does not, it can wait for another month.
2. Choose three to five content pillars
Pillars are recurring themes your audience cares about, such as tips and how-tos, behind the scenes, customer stories, offers and industry news. Pillars make ideas easier to generate and keep your feed balanced.
3. Set a realistic rhythm per channel
Not every network needs the same volume. A common starting point is three to five posts a week on Instagram and Facebook, two to three on LinkedIn and several short videos a week on TikTok. Pick a rhythm your team can sustain for the whole month.
4. Fill the calendar, then write
First map pillars to dates — for example, tips on Sundays, customer stories on Tuesdays and offers on Thursdays. Only then write the posts. In TPS Social you can use the AI Studio to draft captions for each slot and adapt the same idea for every network in a few clicks.
5. Review once, schedule everything
Share the month with your reviewer or client using approval steps, apply their feedback, and schedule all approved posts at once. Keep two or three evergreen posts in the queue as a safety net for busy weeks.
6. Look back before planning the next month
At the end of the month, check which pillars and formats performed best and adjust the next plan. Small improvements every month add up quickly.
Tip: block the same afternoon each month for planning. Consistency in planning is what makes consistency in posting possible.
